Our Grantees

Building Foundations for Success will carry out Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) in 12 community schools in El Salvador, a methodology that assesses students' actual learning levels and provides targeted support to reach grade-level proficiency in literacy and numeracy. Building on pilot results showing 65% improvement in math and 85% in reading, the initiative will train teachers and engage community members to lead remedial learning clubs.

With this grant, Global Pediatric Alliance will expand the access that Mayan women have to quality, culturally-safe and respectful maternal health services in southern Mexico by strengthening the skills of midwives, building community networks of care and promoting Respectful Maternal Care principles in clinics and training institutions.

Guatemala Village Health will improve the health of Maya families in remote Izabal, Guatemala by using a cost-sharing, community-directed model to install 350 household water filters, 110 composting toilets and 110 smokeless stoves effectively reducing high rates of waterborne disease, respiratory illness, and chronic malnutrition - especially among women and children.

The Río Limpio project tackles critical health and environmental challenges in the Peruvian Amazon by combating the Aedes aegypti mosquito; it recruits, trains, and empowers community health workers to conduct home visits, educate residents on sustainable behavior changes, co-design effective solid waste management solutions, and integrate educational initiatives in schools, all through a collaborative and participatory community approach.

This project unites women's gardening cooperatives, health system authorities, and 20,000 mothers to reduce acute child malnutrition by 30% across eight peri-urban communities in Bamako by testing the local, sustainable production of nutritional supplements from seasonal produce.

Working together with the government of Liberia and the University of Liberia this program will deploy the national NICU training package expanded to include simulation-based skill and team building with mentorship at the bedside to improve outcomes for premature and sick neonates.

This project empowers frontline health workers in Rwanda to help women access earlier cervical cancer detection through a co-designed artificial intelligence application that supports visual inspection, strengthens confidence in care, and puts women at the centre of the screening experience.

Accelerate trachoma elimination in Eritrea through WASH programming that strengthens behavior change, integrates facial cleanliness and environmental (F&E) improvement into national health systems, and builds capacity of local health staff to promote change and encourage regular health check-ups. 

VillageReach’s Bate‑Papo Vacina! (Let's Talk about Vaccines!) project engages caregivers, community leaders, and local health systems in Mopeia, Mulevala and eight other districts to design, scale and sustain practical, community‑driven solutions that address barriers to vaccine access and strengthen immunization services to ensure all children receive the full schedule of lifesaving vaccines.

Water is Basic’s Women’s Well Repair Initiative expands into two new South Sudanese states in 2026, training and equipping 40 women-led well-repair teams to restore 500 broken wells, bring reliable clean water to 255,000 people, and establish a locally led, income-generating water infrastructure that empowers women as engineers, entrepreneurs, and community leaders.

Bridging the Digital Divide is an inABLE initiative that will upgrade Assistive Technologies Labs at Thika High School for the Blind, equip 500+ visually impaired learners and 40+ teachers with inclusive digital skills, and embed sustainable resources (digital library and ongoing support) to expand equitable learning and employment pathways in Kenya’s digital economy.

Build the Basics scales a proven pilot to help 36,000 marginalized children, especially girls, to dramatically improve foundational literacy and numeracy , and recover three years of pandemic learning loss, through learner-centric teaching tailored to each child's learning level.
